I was visiting my supplier over at Angel Safety Products in Fort Langley when Elinor introduced me to a special bandage product called MESA. She mentioned that it has an integrated coagulant that promotes clotting and speeds healing. About a week ago my daughter cut her finger. It wasn’t quite bad enough to need stitches but it was an aggressive bleed and I was concerned about scarring. I grabbed my bag and pulled out the Mesa. After cleaning the wound, applying the thin MESA bandage, the bleeding almost immediately stopped. It’s amazing how such a thin bandage can control bleeding that normally would require a few layers of gauze and tube gauze. We did daily cleaning and changed the MESA then after 3 days the cut had healed sufficiently to switch to a bandaid. Today there is no trace of the wound. I’ve used MESA several times on patients as well as myself and now my daughter. It truly is an amazing product and will always have a spot in my trauma bag. Here is a direct link to the product page or call Angel Safety for more details. Please remember that MESA does not replace the need to properly clean the wound. It should be washed with soap and water, cleaned with a mild antiseptic and then flushed and dried before applying MESA. The following video does not demonstrate proper wound cleaning but does show the application of MESA in a real situation.
